BUW-Certificate "Academic management" (ZWM)

The Certificate Programme "Science Management (ZWM)" prepares BUW staff for taking on responsible roles in science management at universities, non-university research institutions, and scientific organisations. Its main aim is to develop practical skills for working in the often-challenging inbetween university education, research, and self-governance in higher education institutions. Typical responsibilities in science management include supporting accreditation procedures, managing third-party funded projects or tasks within dean’s offices, as well as providing academic program advice.

Participants acquire thorough knowledge of the structures and key actors within the higher education and research system, along with methodologies in project and process management and professional communication skills. Through the advanced program modules, participants also have the opportunity to develop an individual profile in the areas of research management, programme management, or higher education management.
