Certificate programme "University Didactics" (ZHD): "Professional teaching skills for the university"
Certified further training in university didactics is currently expected of professors and lecturers at many universities. As part of the certificate programme"Professional Teaching Competence for the University" (known as ZHD at the University of Wuppertal), participants develop a professional self-image as a teacher on the one hand and contribute to quality assurance in the areas of studying and teaching on the other. Upon completion of the certificate programme, formal proof of sound training in higher education didactics and pedagogical aptitude - not only for universities, but generally in the field of adult education - can be acquired.
Access to the certificate programme
Access to the certificate programme is open to academic and artistic staff at the University of Wuppertal. This includes attending all events of the HD-NRW network. In addition, doctoral students, non-scientific employees or academic and artistic staff from other NRW network universities have the opportunity to take advantage of available places on request.
An introductory counselling session is provided at the beginning of the certificate. You can register for one of the following dates by sending an email to Lehrdidaktik:

- Thursday, 06.02.2025 at 10:00 am
- Thursday, 06/03/2025 at 10:00 a.m.

- Tuesday, 06/05/2025 at 10:00 a.m.
Structure of the certificate
The total scope of the certificate comprises at least 200 units (work units) and is divided into the following three modules as well as a compulsory teaching observation period:
Certificate completion and exhibition
To receive the completed "Professional Teaching Skills for Higher Education" certificate, please send the completed transcript of records and proof of the work units you have completed (scanned certificates of attendance for the workshops attended, front and back) to lehrdidaktik[at]uni-wuppertal.de. If you provide us with an office address, we will be happy to send you the certificate.
