Service Centre for Academic Personnel Development (SaPe)

Registration and participation

Do you have questions about registration and participation in our events? You can find answers to the most frequently asked questions in our FAQs. For further information, please contact us at hochschuldidaktik[at]uni-wuppertal.de.

You can find our offer in the calendar on our homepage; you can also view a presentation of the event programme by target group or for individual certificates.

There are registration forms for tutors, research assistants and (junior) professors on the SaPe homepage. Please use the registration form for your status group to register for our events.

You will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt of your registration, but this is not yet a confirmation. You should receive specific feedback from us about your enrolment status within a week: Acceptance, waiting list or cancellation.
Approximately three weeks before the start of the event, you will receive an e-mail with all further information about the venue and other organisational questions. If you have not received this email despite having registered: Write to us at hochschuldidaktik[at]uni-wuppertal.de.

Participation is generally free of charge for members of the BUW. Participation in events for the ZHD (all NRW universities) and the ZNRW (universities of Düsseldorf, Paderborn, Hagen, Cologne, Siegen, Bonn, Aachen) is also free of charge for members of the respective cooperation locations.

Yes, at least three weeks before the event. Please send an email to hochschuldidaktik[at]uni-wuppertal.de so that we can free up your place for other interested parties.

If you are unexpectedly unable to attend at short notice, please cancel immediately so that we can free up your place for other interested parties. Even though participation is free of charge for BUW employees, the university incurs high costs, especially if places cannot be allocated. We must therefore reserve the right to "block" individuals who have repeatedly cancelled at short notice or failed to appear without excuse from participating in further events for 3 months.

About three weeks before the workshop date, you will receive an email with all the important information about the workshop. In this e-mail you will find a link to a Moodle course including a password, in which the Zoom link for the workshop is provided. If there is no Moodle course for the workshop, you will find the Zoom link directly in the email. Please check your emails regularly to ensure that you receive all the necessary information in good time.

Yes, you can take part in our events independently of the certificate programmes. Please note, however, that workshops that can only be credited towards the ZMK certificate, for example, are excluded and can only be attended by people who are taking part in this certificate. Please contact our counselling service to discuss the possibilities.

The workshop programme is primarily aimed at BUW employees. If places are still available, members of other network universities can also take part in the events for the ZHD and the ZNRW. Further information can be found on the pages of the Network University Didactics NRW and the Network Human Resources Development NRW.

There are two potential reasons why you may have been given a place on the waiting list:

On the one hand, you will usually get a place on the waiting list if a workshop is fully booked.

On the other hand, our events are geared towards different target groups and areas of specialisation. Priority is given to those BUW employees who already work in the respective area of specialisation or who are obliged to complete a certificate according to their employment contract.
For this reason, a waiting list place can also be offered to interested parties: if, for example, someone is doing a doctorate at the BUW without a current teaching obligation, the person can generally take part in higher education didactic events - provided there are still places available. The same applies to BUW employees from technology and administration, provided that they have a corresponding activity, e.g. in project management, participation is generally possible - provided there are still places available. Interested parties from cooperating universities can generally participate free of charge - provided there are still places available.

You will therefore initially be allocated a place on the waiting list after registering. At the latest three weeks before the event, we will "move up" and inform the people on the waiting list. In most cases, it is likely that you will be moved up. Please therefore "reserve" the date or let us know if you wish to withdraw your interest in attending.

No, unfortunately we cannot offer catering during the events. Thank you for your understanding. You can take something to drink with you. Sufficient break times are also planned for longer events.
