Young academics are increasingly taking on tasks outside of research and teaching. In addition, the requirements in the day-to-day work of academic staff have also changed in terms of, for example, academic and project management. For these academic employees, the University of Wuppertal offers the opportunity for further training with the "Management Competence for Academics" certificate. Participants who already hold a management and/or project management position are recommended to complete the certificate within the first 12 months of their employment.

Access to the certificate

Participation in the events and completion of the certificate is open to interested parties if they can prove that they either intend to take on a field of activity with management and/or project management responsibility (including without disciplinary responsibility) or that they already hold such a management and/or project management position. This will be clarified in advance in an initial consultation on the certificate offered by the Service Centre for Academic Personnel Development (SaPe).

Structure of the certificate

The overall scope of the certificate comprises 80 units and is divided into the following three modules.
