Digital Instructor" certificate programme (ZDI)
The "Digital Instructor" (ZDI) certificate is aimed at analytical and advisory work in the field of digitally supported teaching. Graduates acquire the necessary skills to support teachers, institutions or other organisations in the design and planning of contemporary teaching scenarios/events. They have the necessary overview of resources, can support and manage projects and have the necessary background knowledge of didactic curriculum planning and skills-orientated design of digitally supported teaching. In addition, digital instructors have sound knowledge of communicative interaction with a wide range of stakeholders. In future, graduates of the certificate course will be employed wherever digitally supported teaching is used. They are broadly positioned for the digital future.
Access to the certificate programme
Access to the certificate programme is open to academic staff with a current or future focus on digitally supported teaching.
Structure of the certificate
The overall scope of the certificate comprises 208 units and is divided into the following three modules:
Module I (56 units) serves to acquire basic skills in the areas of counselling and project management. Following participation, the module enables participants to apply the theoretical principles of dialogue management to counselling contexts at universities and to analyse situational needs. After participating, employees will be able to professionalise their basic approach to project consulting and structurally support and regulate the development of innovative teaching projects.
Module II (72 AE) deals with didactic and media-didactic features of (digital) teaching in relation to specific tools, legal provisions and information technology principles. After completing this module, participants will be able to plan (media) didactic teaching scenarios, select digital tools to suit their needs and understand and conditionally influence the working methods of digital software tools.
In Module III (80 AE), participants reflect on the knowledge gained in Modules I and II, define individual strengths and weaknesses and delve deeper into specific areas. This takes place as part of an accompanying counselling project in the area of digital teaching, which must be written up.
