SaPe offers a wide variety of events on different topics in various formats, including competence-basedcertificate programmes. These are geared towards the roles in teaching, project and academic management. The aim is to support academic staff in relation to both current and current and future responsibilities beyond research, including preparation for possible career paths. These career paths can be as diverse as the staff themselves; therefore, it is not possible to prepare for individual specific professional fields. Broadly speaking, three areas of employment are distinguished:

1. Positions within the university in research and teaching (the traditional career path)
2. Positions within the university in science management and similar roles
3. Positions outside the university, e.g. in business and society, as well as at non-university research institutions
