SaPe offers a wide range of courses on various topics in different formats, including competence-oriented certificate programmes. These are geared towards activities in teaching, project and academic management. The aim is to support academic staff with regard to current and future activities beyond research, i.e. also in preparation for possible career paths. These career paths can be as diverse as the employees, so that, for example, it is not possible to prepare for individual specific professional fields. A rough distinction is made between three areas of employment:

1. Employment within the university in research and teaching (former classic career path)
2. Employment within the university in science management, etc.
3. Employment outside the university, e.g. in business and society, but also at non-university research institutions
